Investment Policy
The Fund has a policy to invest in units of a foreign mutual fund (the “Master Fund”) that primarily invests in equity securities. The Fund shall invest, on average during an accounting period, not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in units of the Master Fund.
The Fund will invest in Fullerton Lux Funds – Global Absolute Alpha – Class A (USD) Acc (the “Master Fund”), which is denominated in U.S. Dollars (USD). The Master Fund is regulated by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) of Luxembourg and is established as a SICAV under the UCITS framework. The Master Fund is established and managed by FundSight S.A., with investment management delegated to Fullerton Fund Management Company Ltd.
The Fund will invest overseas, resulting in an average net foreign exposure of not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) during an accounting period, or such proportion as may be prescribed by the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Investment Objective of the Master Fund
The Fullerton Lux Funds – Global Absolute Alpha Fund seeks to generate positive long-term returns by targeting both:
Capital Appreciation; and
Investment Income,
primarily through investments in equity securities and equity-related securities listed and traded on stock exchanges worldwide.
Investment of Remaining Assets
For the remaining portion of the portfolio, the Fund may invest in units of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) employing leveraged management and/or inverse management strategies as a tool for portfolio management.
The Fund may also invest, both domestically and internationally, in:
Deposit-like instruments and deposits;
Fixed-income securities;
Equity securities;
Hybrid securities;
Warrants;
Securities and/or other assets; and
Other investments or income-generating arrangements as permitted by the SEC or other relevant regulatory authorities.
Foreign Exchange Risk Management
The Fund may invest in derivatives for the purpose of hedging foreign exchange risk, at the discretion of the Fund Manager.
The extent of currency hedging may range from 0% to 105% of the Fund’s foreign investment exposure, depending on market conditions and the Fund Manager’s assessment.
Cross Investment
The Fund may invest in other mutual funds managed by the same asset management company (Cross Investing Funds) in an aggregate amount of not more than 20% of the Fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV).
Management Style
Thai Fund: The Fund adopts a Feeder Fund strategy and aims for its performance to closely track that of the Master Fund.
Master Fund: The Master Fund is actively managed and seeks to outperform its benchmark index through active investment management (Active Management).
Dividend Policy
None
Benchmark
100% of the performance of the Master Fund, adjusted as follows:80% based on the performance of the Master Fund adjusted for the cost of foreign exchange (FX) hedging; and
20% based on the performance of the Master Fund adjusted by the prevailing exchange rate for the purpose of calculating returns in Thai Baht (THB) as of the benchmark calculation date.
