Investment Objective
The Fund will invest in or hold units of foreign investment funds (“Underlying Funds”), including CIS units and/or Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), in at least two funds. On average during an accounting year, the Fund shall invest not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in such Underlying Funds.
Investment Policy
The Fund has a policy to invest in and/or hold units of foreign mutual funds (the “Underlying Funds”), such as Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) and/or Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), in at least two Underlying Funds. On average during an accounting year, the Fund will invest not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in such Underlying Funds. The Underlying Funds will invest primarily in equity securities of companies that are domiciled in, or have their principal business operations in, the People’s Republic of China. The Fund’s investment in each Underlying Fund shall not exceed 79% of the Fund’s NAV on average during an accounting year. In addition, the Fund will invest overseas, resulting in a net exposure to foreign investment risk of not less than 80% of its NAV on average during an accounting year, or such other ratio as may be prescribed by the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The foreign funds or Underlying Funds may invest in derivatives for Efficient Portfolio Management (EPM) and/or hedging purposes. The remaining portion of the Fund’s assets may be invested, both domestically and internationally, in deposit-like instruments, deposits, fixed-income securities, equity securities, hybrid securities, warrants, as well as other securities and/or assets, or other income-generating investments as permitted under the Fund’s scheme and/or approved by the SEC or relevant regulatory authorities. The Fund may also invest in derivatives for Efficient Portfolio Management and/or for hedging Foreign Exchange Rate Risk, at the discretion of the Fund Manager. Such discretion will be exercised based on prevailing financial market conditions and other relevant factors, including economic, political, monetary, and fiscal developments, in assessing currency trends. If the Fund Manager expects the U.S. Dollar (USD) to depreciate, the Fund may enter into derivatives transactions to hedge foreign exchange risk to a significant extent. Conversely, if the Fund Manager expects the USD to appreciate, the Fund may choose not to hedge such risk or may hedge only a limited portion of the exposure. However, where the Fund Manager determines that foreign exchange hedging is not in the best interests of unitholders or may adversely affect potential benefits to unitholders, the Fund may refrain from hedging currency risk altogether. Investors should note that such hedging transactions may incur costs, which could reduce the Fund’s overall returns. Furthermore, the Fund may invest in or hold: Structured Notes (debt instruments with embedded derivatives); Non-investment-grade debt securities; Unrated debt securities; and Unlisted securities issued by companies that are not listed on a stock exchange. The Fund may also engage in: Securities lending transactions; Reverse repurchase agreements (Reverse Repo); Securities borrowing and lending transactions; and Other investments or income-generating activities as permitted under the Fund’s scheme and/or approved by the SEC or relevant regulatory authorities. In addition, the Fund may invest in units of mutual funds, property funds, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), or infrastructure funds managed by the Management Company, provided that such investment does not exceed 20% of the Fund’s NAV. In the case where an Underlying Fund is a property fund or an infrastructure fund, the Fund may invest up to 20% of the total units issued by such Underlying Fund. Any such investment shall be made in accordance with the Fund’s investment policy and the rules and conditions prescribed by the SEC. Furthermore, the Underlying Funds are prohibited from investing back into the Fund (circle investment) and may not further invest in other funds managed by the same asset management company (cascade investment).Provide your feedback on BizChatTranslate to ThaiTranslate to MandarinTranslate to JapaneseDrop your files here
