Investment Policy
The Fund has a policy to invest in and/or hold units of foreign collective investment schemes, including CIS units and/or foreign exchange-traded funds (ETFs) with investment policies focused on equity securities (the “Underlying Funds”). The Fund will maintain, on average over an accounting year, a net exposure of not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in equity securities. The Fund will invest in at least two Underlying Funds and will allocate, on average over an accounting year, not less than 80% of its NAV to such Underlying Funds. The Underlying Funds will primarily invest in equity securities of companies domiciled in and/or having their principal business operations in the United States and/or in funds listed and traded on regulated stock exchanges in the United States. The Fund will invest in any single Underlying Fund at a level not exceeding 79% of its NAV on average over an accounting year. The Fund will invest in foreign securities, resulting in a net exposure to foreign investment risk of not less than 80% of its NAV on average over an accounting year, or such other proportion as may be prescribed by the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The allocation among foreign mutual funds and/or foreign ETFs will be determined at the discretion of the Fund Manager, who may actively adjust the portfolio allocation in accordance with prevailing market conditions and/or anticipated market developments. The remaining portion of the Fund’s assets may be invested, both domestically and internationally, in deposit-like instruments, deposits, debt securities, equity securities, hybrid securities, warrants, as well as other securities, assets, or alternative investments as permitted or approved by the SEC and/or the Office of the SEC. The Fund may also invest in financial derivative instruments for efficient portfolio management and/or for hedging foreign exchange rate risk, at the discretion of the Fund Manager. The extent of foreign exchange hedging will depend on prevailing market conditions and other relevant factors, including economic, political, monetary and fiscal conditions. If the Fund Manager anticipates a depreciation of the U.S. Dollar (USD), the Fund may implement foreign exchange hedging to a significant extent. Conversely, if the USD is expected to appreciate, the Fund Manager may reduce the level of hedging or elect not to hedge at all. However, where the Fund Manager determines that hedging may not be in the best interests of unitholders or may deprive unitholders of potential benefits, the Fund may remain unhedged. Investors should note that hedging transactions may involve costs, which could reduce the Fund’s overall returns. In addition, the Fund may invest in or hold structured notes, non-investment grade debt securities, unrated debt securities, and unlisted securities. The Fund may also enter into reverse repurchase transactions (Reverse Repo), securities lending transactions, and/or other investments or income-generating arrangements as permitted or approved by the SEC and/or the Office of the SEC. The Fund may invest up to 20% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in units of mutual funds managed by the Management Company, provided that such investments are consistent with the Fund’s investment policy and comply with the rules and conditions prescribed by the Office of the SEC. The Underlying Funds may not invest back into the Fund (i.e., no circular investment structure is permitted). However, an Underlying Fund may further invest in another fund managed by the same asset management company for no more than one additional tier. The exercise of voting rights in respect of investments in funds managed by the Management Company shall be conducted in accordance with the rules and conditions prescribed by the Office of the SEC. The Fund shall not exercise voting rights on behalf of an Underlying Fund. In the event that an Underlying Fund is unable to obtain the required voting instructions due to such restrictions, the Management Company may seek approval from the Office of the SEC, provided that approval has been obtained from more than one-half of the remaining unitholders of the Underlying Fund.
