Investment Policy
The Fund has a policy to invest in units of a foreign mutual fund (the “Master Fund”) that primarily invests in equity securities. The Fund will invest, on average during an accounting period, not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in units of the Master Fund. The Fund will invest in units of First Trust Natural Gas ETF (the “Master Fund”), denominated in U.S. Dollars (USD) and listed exclusively on the NYSE Arca exchange. The Master Fund is established under the laws of the United States of America (USA) and is advised by First Trust Advisors L.P. (“First Trust”). The Fund will invest in the Master Fund at an average allocation of not less than 80% of the Fund’s NAV during an accounting period. Investment Objective and Strategy of the Master Fund The Master Fund seeks to invest in securities that comprise the ISE-Revere Natural Gas? Index (the “Reference Index”). The Reference Index is designed to track the performance of publicly listed companies that derive a substantial portion of their revenues from activities related to the natural gas industry, including: Natural Gas Exploration and Production (E&P); and Natural Gas Midstream Infrastructure Businesses. Eligible securities must be listed on U.S. stock exchanges and satisfy the index eligibility requirements. The Master Fund adopts an indexing investment approach, seeking to achieve investment results that, before fees and expenses, closely correspond to the performance of the Reference Index. Under normal circumstances, the Master Fund will invest at least 90% of its net assets, including borrowing for investment purposes (if any), in securities comprising the Reference Index. The Fund will invest overseas, resulting in an average net foreign exposure of not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) during an accounting period, or such percentage as may be prescribed by the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Investment of Remaining Assets For the remaining portion of the portfolio, the Fund may invest in units of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) employing inverse management strategies solely for portfolio management purposes. The Fund may also invest, both domestically and internationally, in: Deposit-like instruments and deposits; Fixed-income securities; Equity securities; Hybrid securities; Warrants; Securities and/or other assets; and Other investments or income-generating arrangements as permitted under the Fund prospectus and applicable SEC regulations.
