Investment Objective
The Fund will invest in or hold units of foreign collective investment schemes (the “Underlying Funds”), including CIS units and/or Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), with investments allocated to at least two underlying funds. On average during an accounting year, the Fund will invest not less than 80% of its net asset value (NAV) in such Underlying Funds.
Investment Policy
The Fund’s investment policy is to invest in or hold units of foreign mutual funds (“Underlying Funds”), including CIS units and/or Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), in at least two funds. On average during an accounting year, the Fund will invest not less than 80% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in such Underlying Funds. The Underlying Funds invest primarily in equity securities of companies domiciled in, or whose principal business operations are located in, the People’s Republic of China. The Fund’s investment in any single Underlying Fund will, on average during an accounting year, not exceed 79% of the Fund’s NAV. In addition, the Fund will invest overseas, resulting in a net foreign exposure averaging at least 80% of the Fund’s NAV during the accounting year, or in accordance with the limits prescribed by the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The foreign funds or Underlying Funds may invest in derivatives for Efficient Portfolio Management (EPM) and/or hedging purposes. The remaining portion of the Fund’s assets may be invested both domestically and internationally in deposits, deposit-like instruments, fixed-income securities, equity securities, hybrid securities, warrants, as well as other securities, assets, or income-generating instruments and transactions as permitted under the Fund’s scheme and/or approved by the SEC or relevant regulatory authorities. The Fund may also invest in derivatives for Efficient Portfolio Management and/or to hedge against foreign exchange rate risk, at the discretion of the Fund Manager. Such decisions will be based on prevailing market conditions and relevant economic, political, monetary, and fiscal factors used to assess currency trends. For example: If the Fund Manager expects the US Dollar (USD) to depreciate, the Fund may implement foreign exchange hedging to a significant extent. If the Fund Manager expects the USD to appreciate, the Fund may choose not to hedge foreign exchange risk or may hedge only partially. However, if the Fund Manager determines that currency hedging would not be in the best interests of unitholders or could reduce potential benefits, the Fund may refrain from hedging foreign exchange risk altogether. Investors should note that hedging transactions may involve costs, which could reduce the Fund’s overall returns. Furthermore, the Fund may invest in or hold: Structured Notes (instruments with embedded derivatives); Non-investment grade debt securities; Unrated debt securities; Unlisted securities issued by companies not listed on a securities exchange. The Fund may also engage in: Securities lending transactions; Reverse repurchase agreements (Reverse Repo); Other securities financing transactions or income-generating activities permitted under the Fund’s scheme and/or approved by the SEC or relevant regulatory authorities. This investment strategy may enhance return potential but also exposes investors to risks associated with equity markets, foreign investments, derivatives, foreign exchange fluctuations, lower-rated debt instruments, and liquidity constraints.
